It's hard for an NFL team to go wrong when drafting a player from a championship program.

The Las Vegas Raiders will have a chance to not only satisfy their needs of drafting an offensive tackle in the 2024 NFL Draft, but they can do so with a prospect from one of college football's most dominating programs over the last few seasons.

Offensive tackle Amarius Mims of Georgia is one of the top prospects at his position in this year's draft class and could greatly benefit the Raiders.

Mims unfortunately played in only seven games (six starts) due to an injury this past season.

Georgia would finish its 2023 season with a 13-1 record, missing out on the College Football Playoff after winning back-to-back titles.

The season before, Mims helped contribute to the Bulldogs' 2022-23 title run through his 14 appearances, starting in each of Georgia's playoff games.

Mims played eight games in his first season with the program (2021-22).

Not only would Mims add championship experience to the Raiders' roster, but his presence would also be good for chemistry, as Mims was teammates with Raiders running back Zamir White and safety Christopher Smith II during his time at Georgia.

Regarding his on-field strengths, Mims is a solid pass protector who has a valuable balance at 6-foot-7 and 340 pounds, plus athleticism. His addition would be a significant step in Las Vegas' attempt to grow its pass game in the 2024 season.

Pro Football Focus gave Mims an overall blocking grade of 75.6, a run-blocking grade of 68.4, and a pass-blocking grade of 81.2 for the 2023 season.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
