The Las Vegas Raiders are looking for talent at all positions in the 2024 NFL Draft.

They are looking for talent on the defensive side of the ball, a unit that found success in the second half of the season under Interim Coach Antonio Pierce and Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham.

The Raiders have talent on defense but could be looking to add more to push them over the top to become a postseason team next season. While they have good players on the top line of their defense, they could be looking for depth.

That depth could come in the form of Texas A&M’s Demani Richardson. Richardson concludes his Aggies career with 304 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, three and a half sacks, 14 passes defended, and four interceptions.

Richardson played a lot early in his collegiate career, posting 71 total tackles in his freshman season in 2019. His career-high is 73, which he set in 2022.

Richardson is a well-rounded player who thrived as both a run defender and a coverage safety for the Aggies in his career. According to Pro Football Focus, he was targeted 25 times, allowing 17 completions for 267 yards and two touchdowns.

Richardson is a well-built player for the safety position at 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds. He has good speed and can stay stride-for-stride with some of the fastest ball carriers.

He also has high-IQ at the safety position, consistently recognizing routes and closing on them to force incompletions. His speed allows him to close on some of those plays.

The Las Vegas Raiders could add experience to their safety room with Texas A&M's Demani Richardson in the 2024 NFL Draft.

His experience could also be enticing to the Raiders, as he has five years of collegiate play under his belt. Richardson appeared in 56 career games at Texas A&M, so he could immediately be ready to contribute as a depth piece.

Even though he has lots of experience, Richardson is not very technically proficient, which limits his floor as a prospect. He is projected as a day three selection.

The Raiders could look to add Richardson as a depth piece in the later rounds of the draft, as his experience could make him someone who could contribute immediately as a third safety.
