Raiders Offensive Match-Ups to Watch vs. Bills

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders take on the Buffalo Bills today, looking to win their second consecutive game.
The Bills are looking to avoid their second consecutive loss after dropping their first game of the season in overtime.
There are several matchups that will be intriguing to watch between these two teams. The Raiders and Coach Josh McDaniels’ offense vs. Sean McDermott’s excellent and deep defense will especially be something to watch.
With all the skill position players the Raiders have going up against the secondary of the Bills, some individual match-ups will be worth watching.
Let’s take a closer look at three match-ups to watch when the Raiders have the ball.
Wide receiver Davante Adams vs. cornerback Tre’Davious White -- A match-up of one of the best wide receivers in the NFL against one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL will always be prime viewing.
Adams has faced White once in his career when he was with the Green Bay Packers, catching four passes against him for 81 yards. Adams will want to improve on that performance, and White will want to hold Adams under it.
Wide receiver battles against cornerbacks are always entertaining to watch, and Adams and White are two of the best in the business. This match-up should certainly be notable.
Runninb back Josh Jacobs vs. Bills run defense -- The New York Jets found success running the ball against the Bills’ front, and the Raiders are hoping Jacobs can, too.
The Bills allowed 172 yards on the ground on Monday night after allowing only 98.4 yards per game in 2022. McDaniels and the Raiders will be looking to take advantage of this with Jacobs, who had a quiet game Week 1 with only 48 yards on 19 carries in Denver.
Now that Jacobs has had a game to get re-acclimated, he faces a Bills run defense that got gashed on the ground.
Raiders tight ends vs. Bills linebackers -- The battle of the Raiders’ sure-handed tight ends against the athleticism of the Bills’ linebackers should be an interesting match-up.
Tight ends Austin Hooper and rookie Michael Mayer will face linebackers Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard, two athletic freaks who can cover lots of ground and hit hard.
Operating over the middle of the field is one way the Raiders can find success on offense, but the Bills might not allow it.
The Silver and Black remain on the road this week as they travel to play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 1:05 p.m. EDT/10:05 a.m. PDT.
