On top of already missing their second-best wide receiver entering the game, the Las Vegas Raiders found themselves with their best wide receiver and arguably the best wide receiver, with Davante Adams being evaluated for a concussion on Sunday in Buffalo.

Adams took a hit in the fourth quarter from Bills safety Taylor Rapp. While Adams has never been known to shy away from contact, he was not a fan of the hit. Adams took offense partially because the game was already out of reach.

The hit raised the question of why Adams and other starters were still playing with under five minutes in the fourth quarter of a 28-point losing effort on the road.

"I don't want to continue to talk too much about it," Adams said. "Was it unnecessary? Completely, obviously. I mean, certain players play a certain way, too; some people are out of control, fly around, and don't have much true purpose.

"I mean, playing a half field on one side, you run over and hit somebody in the head on the other side of the field. I mean, that's the type of stuff that contributes to you not being on the field."

Adams shared that plays of the sort are why Rapp is a backup and was only on the field because the game was no longer competitive. Not only that, Adams was tripled covered, including Rapp, and there were only three minutes left in the game

"That's why you're in when you go in on top by 25 at the end of the game," Adams said. "Maybe if that man learns how to play the game the right way, he will see the field. But until then, he'll have to go in and live off of plays like that, I guess."

Adams practiced with his teammates on Wednesday and said he felt normal. That sure is welcome news for the Raiders, who need all the health they can get as they return home this week and follow up with another AFC West road game the following week.

The Silver and Black return home to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 8:20 p.m. EDT/5:20 p.m. PDT.
