The Las Vegas Raiders haven't fared well in the AFC West over the last 20 seasons, with their last division title dating back to the 2002-03 season.

The Raiders managed to finish second in the division race only three times in that span.

However, the Raiders do seem to have the number of one AFC West opponent in particular.

The Silver and Black have won their last six games against the Denver Broncos, as well as nine of the last 11.

This upcoming season, the Raiders have an opportunity to extend that six-game win streak right off the back when they head to Empower Field at Mile High in Denver in Week 1.

Denver will have a new head coach in Sean Payton, who had many years of success with the New Orleans Saints, where he won Super Bowl XLIV.

Payton's leadership, along with a re-vamped offensive line, gives the notion that the Broncos will not be the same team that finished last in the division a season ago and could very well threaten the Raiders' streak.

The streak began in November of 2020 when Las Vegas handed Denver a rude welcome to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, dismantling the divisional foe, 37-12, behind a 112-yard, two-touchdown rushing performance by Raiders running back Josh Jacobs.

Raiders running back Devontae Booker also had himself a day, finishing the game with an 81-yard, two-touchdown display against his former team, with whom he played the first four seasons of his NFL career.

Las Vegas followed the victory with another one seven weeks later, defeating the Broncos in the final half-minute with a one-yard touchdown from Jacobs and a game-clinching two-point conversion by Raiders tight end Darren Waller, who wound up with 117 receiving yards.

The next season, the Raiders managed to hold off a fourth-quarter comeback by the Broncos on the road in Week 6, ultimately winning by 10 points.

Las Vegas would win again 10 weeks later on the day after Christmas, 2021. They were led by an outstanding 129-yard rushing outing from Jacobs.

Then, of course, last season, the Raiders added two more victories in games that each came down to thrilling fourth-quarter battles, including a showdown that went to overtime in the second meeting.
