New Raiders RB Coach Foster Leaves for UCLA

For the second time in the last few weeks, the Las Vegas Raiders lost an expected incoming coach, as DeShaun Foster has become head coach at UCLA.

The Las Vegas Raiders will have to find another coach for their running back room shortly after finding a new offensive coordinator.

This time, the Raiders lost running back coach DeShaun Foster, who recently agreed to take the coaching spot in Las Vegas, but has become head coach at UCLA.

Foster, who played at UCLA, was a coach on UCLA's staff for most of the last decade.

Foster had a successful career as a running back at UCLA, rushing for more than 3,000 yards, including over 1,100 yards in his last season with the Bruins.

While Foster had been with UCLA for most of the previous decade, he spent a season as running backs coach at Texas Tech.

The Carolina Panthers selected Foster in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He rushed for more than over 3,500 yards, 11 touchdowns and registered over 100 catches for 1,000-plus receiving yards while playing more than 75 game in the NFL.

After retiring from the National Football League in 2009, Foster would begin his coaching career with UCLA and then at Texas Tech, along with Kliff Kingsbury.

Ironically, both would leave the Raiders much sooner than anyone expected.

The Las Vegas Raiders will have to find a new running backs coach, as DeShaun Foster left Las Vegas to become the head coach of UCLA.

The Las Vegas Raiders will have to find a new running backs coach, as DeShaun Foster left Las Vegas to become the head coach of UCLA.

However, Foster's acceptance of the head coaching position with his alma mater, where he made a name for himself and began his coaching career, makes complete sense. He is rightfully excited about the opportunity.

"This is a dream come true," Foster said in a statement. "I always envisioned being a Bruin ever since I was young, and now being the head coach at my alma mater is such a surreal feeling, and I'm grateful for this opportunity. The foundation of this program will be built on discipline, respect, and enthusiasm."

The Raiders will have to find another coach to fill the void left by Foster's departure. The next running backs coach will have his work cut out for him, with or without Josh Jacobs on the team.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
