New Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew became quite familiar with the Raiders and their grit before officially signing with the Silver and Black last week.

Minshew and the Indianapolis Colts defeated the Raiders at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Week 17 last season, a Raiders team that had been turning the corner as a team to be feared.

"Got some dudes here, man," Minshew said at his introductory press conference on Thursday. "Got receivers, already meeting some guys in there. The offensive line looks good.

"I'm excited just to get to work. I think we've all just got to get on the same page, that's kind of the name of the game. I've got a new offense to learn, but I'm excited to get in there and put these guys in the best position to succeed."

Minshew chose the Raiders after only one year in Indianapolis.

Having been a part of a Philadelphia Eagles team that went to Super Bowl LVII, Minshew knows what a winning culture looks like and believes one is in the works in Las Vegas.

"I'm always looking for opportunities to compete man, and this is a great one here," Minshew said. "I'm excited to get in and compete with a team that I feel like has a chance to be really good.

"We played them at the end of the year last year, and I felt some of that momentum, some of that energy that was building, and any time you have a chance to compete and win that's all you can really look forward to."

Minshew finished that Week 17 game with 224 passing yards and a touchdown, leading the Colts to a narrow 23-20 victory. His only other time ever playing the Raiders was in their final game at the Oakland Coliseum in 2019 when he was a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
