Through his first two seasons with the New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers had not recorded a receiving touchdown in 29 games.

Today, through seven weeks with the Raiders, Meyers is tied for third place in the league in touchdown receptions with five, one fewer than his career-best, which he recorded last season, his final one in New England.

Meyers' latest touchdown came in Las Vegas' 30-12 loss to the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday when he found the end zone in the final minute and a half of the game for the Raiders' only touchdown.

That made it Meyers' third consecutive game with a receiving touchdown, as he had recorded one in each of the Raiders' previous two victories.

In the second quarter, he posted one in Las Vegas' win over his former team, the Patriots, to give the Raiders an early 10-0 lead.

The week before, on Monday night of Week 5, Meyers also scored in the second quarter, giving the Raiders their first lead against the Green Bay Packers, who they beat, 17-13.

That followed a three-game stretch in which the first-year Raiders wide receiver did not record any touchdowns, one of which was Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, which he had to miss due to concussion protocol.

What will almost inevitably be a career season for Meyers was ignited by a two-touchdown performance in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, including the game-winner with a little more than six and a half minutes remaining in the game.

Meyers also is second on the team with 385 receiving yards. His five receiving touchdowns have him in front of Raiders All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, who was last year's league leader in the category with 14 touchdown receptions.

Meyers' touchdown reception total is tied with Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews, Chicago Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore and Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton.

The Silver and Black will stay on the road to take on the Detroit Lions on Monday night, Oct. 30, at 8:15 p.m. EDT/5:15 p.m. PDT.
