Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's unimpressive career with the Silver and Black is likely ending.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Garoppolo has been suspended for the first two games of the 2024 NFL season after violating the NFL's Performance Substances Enhancing Policy.

Garoppolo used a prescribed medication but did so without having a valid Therapeutic Use Exemption.

Schefter also reported that the Raiders are expected to release Garoppolo before he is owed his $11.25-million roster bonus.

Garoppolo signed a three-year, $72.75-million contract with Las Vegas as a free agent last offseason. He would start only six games for the Raiders before being replaced by rookie Aidan O'Connell when Coach Antonio Pierce became interim head coach.

The veteran quarterback posted 1,205 passing yards, seven touchdowns and nine interceptions in seven games last season.

Once the Raiders part ways with Garoppolo, he will be looking for his fourth team in 11 years, having spent time with the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers before his short stint in Las Vegas.

Drafted by New England in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Eastern Illinois, Garoppolo went on to win two Super Bowl titles as a Patriot.

Then Garoppolo spent most of his career in San Francisco, leading the 49ers to two NFC championship games as a starter, including an appearance in Super Bowl LIV. He also was a member of the 49ers' squad that went to the NFC title game during in the 2022-23 season.

Garoppolo will be permitted to participate in off-season activities and training camp before serving his suspension for the first two games of the 2024 NFL regular season.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
