While the Las Vegas Raiders are adding a significant free agent with defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, they will also be losing one.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, former All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs is heading to the Green Bay Packers.

The Raiders wanted to keep Jacobs, and Jacobs wanted to be a Raider, but his connection to Packers assistant head coach and special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia, who served as interim head coach of the Raiders for 12 games in the 2021 season, played a key role in the star running back's departure.

Jacobs missed the final four games of the 2023 season due to a quad injury. Raiders backup running back Zamir White carried the load, helping lead Las Vegas to victories over the Silver and Black's  three divisional rivals -- the Los Angeles Chargers, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Denver Broncos.

The Raiders selected Jacobs in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Alabama product started 13 games in his rookie season before being selected to his first Pro Bowl the following season.

In five seasons as a Raider, Jacobs totaled 5,545 rushing yards, 46 rushing touchdowns, and 1,448 receiving yards.

Jacobs leaves Sin City third in franchise history in career rushing yards and career rushing touchdowns. His career-best rushing mark from the 2022 season ranks second all-time in Raiders history for single-season rushing, trailing only legend and Hall of Famer Marcus Allen.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
