Las Vegas Raiders star running back Josh Jacobs has returned to the team and will be suiting up in a new jersey number.

The NFL's reigning rushing champion has worn the No. 28 for all four of his professional years so far, but he will now be donning No. 8, the number he wore during his years at Alabama.

Let's look back at those who have worn the No. 8 throughout the franchise's history:

Ray Guy, Punter (1973-1986)

Guy was the first Raider to ever wear No. 8. Not only that, but he was the first punter in the history of the league to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The seven-time Pro Bowler was a part of all three of the franchise's Super Bowl titles.

Guy was a Raider for all 14 years of his NFL career and finished as the Silver and Black's second all-time leader in punting yards with 44,493, which he attained off a total of 1,049 punts.

Marques Tuiasosopo, Quarterback (2001-2008)

Tuiasosopo also was a Raider for his entire career.

The second-round pick from the 2001 NFL Draft threw for 554 yards and two touchdowns in only 13 games over the span of his six seasons.

Daunte Culpepper, Quarterback (2007)

Culpepper was a Raider for only the 2007 season.

He was a three-time Pro Bowler in his 11-year NFL career.

Jason Campbell, Quarterback (2010-2011)

Campbell, a fifth-round pick from the 2005 draft, was a Raider for two of his nine NFL seasons.

Matt Schaub, Quarterback (2014)

Schaub had a long, 16-year NFL career. He spent one year with the Silver and Black.

The longtime NFL quarterback was a two-time Pro Bowler. He led the league in passing yards (4,770) in the 2009 season.

Connor Cook, Quarterback (2015)

Cook was an active NFL player for just one season, his lone campaign with the Raiders.

He came in to replace former Raider Derek Carr when he went down with his season-ending injury that year.

Daniel Carlson, Kicker (2018-2019)

Carlson, the 2022-23 All-Pro placekicker wore the No. 8 for his first two NFL seasons.

Marcus Mariota, Quarterback (2020-2021)

Mariota, the former Heisman Trophy winner out of Oregon, served as Carr's backup for two seasons. He finished his career in Las Vegas with 230 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and two rushing touchdowns.

The Silver and Black open the regular season at the Denver Broncos on Sunday, September 10, at 4:25 p.m. EDT/1:25 p.m. PDT.
