The Las Vegas Raiders have already faced some of the league's top edge rushers this season, and the challenge will only continue.

The Raiders' offense line's newest task will come Monday night when it looks to limit Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, a pass rusher who has made a name for himself as one of the best up-and-coming defensive threats in the NFL in his second season.

Not only does Hutchinson present quite the test, but he leads a group that is second in the league in rushing defense and 11th overall in total yards allowed.

"Coach [Aaron] Glenn does a really good job," Raiders Offensive Coordinator Mick Lombardi said when he addressed the media Tuesday. "I mean, they're a much-improved unit from last season. They're playing really hard, they're playing fast, they're playing physical.

"[Aidan] Hutchinson, I would say, sums them up as a unit. They're aggressive, and they all play with a high motor. And they want to get to the football, they take pride in it, they tackle really well.

"You can see they put a lot of stress on fundamentals and effort. And I think that's what that core belief of their defense is, and you can see it on tape every Sunday because they go out there and they play hard-nosed football. And they do a good job of it because ... Hutchinson, I would say, he does a good job of that.

"That's kind of his M.O., And he's a really good player. And he's a really good player on the edge in both the running game and passing game.

"But, I would say, he sums them up as a unit in general."

Hutchinson was the Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year runner-up last season and was named to the 2022 Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team.

He has recorded 22 combined tackles, four for losses, 4.5 sacks, four passes defensed, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and an interception this season.

The Silver and Black will stay on the road to take on the Detroit Lions on Monday night, Oct. 30, at 8:15 p.m. EDT/5:15 p.m. PDT.
