The Las Vegas Raiders are working through the offseason to improve the roster and return to the playoffs.

Part of that process is evaluating prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Raiders have visited multiple players’ Pro Days over the last week, getting a closer and more personal look at different prospects.

One Pro Day the Raiders have attended is Auburn’s, and a player they could have gotten a closer look at was edge rusher Derick Hall. Hall is considered a potential first or second-round pick in this year’s draft.

Look closer at Hall and see if he would fit in the Silver and Black.

Hall was considered a four-star prospect in the 2019 recruiting class out of Gulfport, Miss. Over his four-year career with the Tigers, Hall posted 146 total tackles, 29.5 tackles for losses, 19.5 sacks, and an interception. He was named a First-Team All-SEC defensive player this past season.

The defensive end is a large physical presence off the edge, standing at 6-3 and weighing 256 pounds. He possesses elite speed, running a 4.55 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. He also posted a 10-foot, 7-inch broad jump, placing him in the 94th percentile.

Hall is an elite athlete with long arms who was a productive pass rusher and an effective run defender. He can play inside or off the edge as well. Hall is raw and needs to improve his bend and pass-rushing moves.

The Raiders could view Hall as a rotational pass rusher who could eventually slide into a starting role due to his athletic upside and positional versatility. General Manager Dave Ziegler could take a swing on him and cash in on his ceiling if he's available with their second-round pick.

The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period began at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15.

The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this offseason.
