Reflecting on Last Time Raiders Played in Orchard Park

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders will be facing some teams they haven't seen in a while during the 2023-24 season and traveling to places they haven't been hosted by in quite a long time.
One of those places will be Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y., where the Raiders will take on one of the best teams in the AFC, the Buffalo Bills.
The last time the Silver and Black played there was 2017, when the stadium was known as New Era Field.
It was Week 8 of the 2017-18 season, and the Raiders, who were in Oakland at the time, had a 3-4 record after attaining a very momentous victory over their divisional rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, at Arrowhead Stadium.
A win in Orchard Park would have put them at .500, with one more game to go before their bye week.
But the Bills had other plans.
Oakland found the end zone on the game's first drive, as Raiders fullback Jamize Olawale scored from a yard out.
That lead held until early in the second quarter when Buffalo drove 64 yards, finishing the drive with a touchdown pass from quarterback Tyrod Taylor to wide receiver Andre Holmes.
The tie held until the final minute of the half, as a fumble by Raiders running back DeAndre Washington was returned to the house by Bills All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano, who was a rookie.
Buffalo would strike again at the start of the second half, converting on a 35-yard field goal to make it a 10-point lead.
On the ensuing drive, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr threw an interception that found the hands of Bills safety Micah Hyde.
That would lead to another Buffalo field goal, as the Bills ultimately took a 13-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Due to a lengthy 48-yard drive to end the third, though, the Bills scored a touchdown on the first play of the fourth.
Oakland would score one more touchdown, but it wasn't enough to overcome Buffalo's 34 points.
The Raiders return to Highmark Stadium in Week 2 of the 2023-24 season.
