Raiders Face Former TE Week 9 of the 2022-23 NFL Season
One of the Raiders' big off-season moves was trading tight end Darren Waller. The Raiders traded Waller on March 14 to the New York Giants in exchange for the 100th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The 100th pick of this year's NFL Draft ended up being wide receiver Tre Tucker.
With the Raiders schedule released on May 11, the Silver and Black face Waller's new team, the New York Giants, on November 25th in Allegiant Stadium at 1:25 PT.
Darren Waller spent five seasons in the Silver and Black before he was traded. During his time with the Raiders, he was known as one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
Waller played 56 games with the Raiders and had 286 receptions for 3,469 receiving yards. He also had 17 touchdowns as a Raider. His best season was during 2020 when he played 16 games and made 107 receptions for 1,196 receiving yards. He also finished the 2020 season with nine touchdowns.
This will be the 15th meeting between the two ball teams. The Raiders lead the series, 8-6, against the Giants. The last time these teams played each other was in 2021, when the Raiders lost to the Giants, 23-16, in Metlife Stadium. This season, however, the Giants travel to face the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This will be the first time Waller comes back, where he spent a total of three seasons.
