Where is the Raiders RB Unit Ranked in the NFL?

Undoubtedly, the Raiders are fortunate to have one of the most talented running back corps in the National Football League.

In a recent Pro Football Focus article, the website ranked every NFL teams running back units. According to PFF, The Raiders have the seventh overall best running back corps in the NFL.

Josh Jacobs is the starter and leader in the Raiders' running back unit. He has been the dominating force, which is why the Raiders running back unit is listed so high. The website mentions that just a year ago, only Jacobs was doing most of the heavy-duty work for the running back unit. Last season, he accounted for 339 of the team's 377 rushing attempts.

Jacobs is coming off the best NFL season in his career. He finished the 2022-23 NFL as the league's rushing leader with 1,653 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.

Pro Football Focus also mentions some fascinating stats that Jacobs finished with last season. He had a 91.9 PFF grade, the top grade out of all running backs in the NFL. He also forced 90 missed tackles on rushing attempts, seven more than any other running back. The Raiders running back unit is the highest-ranked in the AFC West. The Los Angeles Chargers are listed at No. 9, the Denver Broncos are at No. 20, and the Kansas City Chiefs are listed at No. 21.

Overall, the Raiders running back unit has been stepping up this offseason even without star running back Jacobs.

The Raiders decided to use their Franchise Tag on Jacobs and hope to work out a long-term deal. Brandon Bolden, Ameer Abdullah, Zamir White, and Brittian Brown are the running backs who have all been stepping in and figuring out their roles in the Raiders' running back unit.
