Raiders, Host Committee Begin Super Bowl Week in LV

While the Las Vegas Raiders missed out on the playoffs this NFL season, it is still an exciting time to be a fan of the game and living in Las Vegas.

With Super Bowl LVIII set for Sunday at Allegiant Stadium, Monday marked the first day of Super Bowl Week in Las Vegas, he first of a fun-filled week-long event that will include all sorts of festivities leading up to the big game.

On Monday morning,Sandra Douglass Morgann, the Raiders President and Vice Chair of the Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee, joined i the opening day activities.

Governor Joe Lombardo, and other representatives also were there to officially kick off Super Bowl Week at a press conference at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

"On behalf of Mark Davis and the Las Vegas Raiders, we want to thank you all and welcome you all to Las Vegas," Douglass Morgan said. "Welcome you to our home in Allegiant Stadium. We know it's going to be an incredible week, ending with a game that all of us will remember.

"I wanted to definitely thank -- it's been a truly collective effort -- I want to thank the National Football League for your incredible collaborative partnership, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Clark County, the state of Nevada. It's really been everyone truly working together to make sure this is going to be a week that none of us will ever forget.

"Last, but certainly not least, we have to thank, and are in a debt of gratitude to be able to bring such a true leader here to Las Vegas and help us pull this off in the Super Bowl Host Committee CEO Sam Joffray, who's led an incredible team of 15 employees.

"I mean, a small group that's really put this on and over 300 subject-matter experts in every single area in Southern Nevada. So thank you so much, Sam, for the Host Committee, for your leadership, and for, honestly, putting this all on."

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
