During the holiday season, NFL teams have a fantastic opportunity to give back to their communities.

That’s exactly what the Las Vegas Raiders did as they hosted their second annual Youth Holiday Party at Allegiant Stadium.

Nearly 200 youths participated in the event, as Raiders players, their families, Raiderettes, Raider Rusher and several Raiders employees also attended to ensure those attendees had a happy holiday.

Many of the youngsters, aged 6-12, are from the foster care system. Raiders players contributed funds to the cause, purchasing toys for the children for the event and other community toy drives.

On the field and in the locker room, Allegiant was decked out with festive holiday decor. Even Santa and Mrs. Claus made appearances.

The donated toys benefited several Las Vegas area organizations, including Child Haven, Silver Mesa Recreation Center, SafeNest Adopt-A-Family and three Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Departments.

The youngsters could pick out gifts in the locker room, surrounded by the Raiderettes and Raiders players.

The players present were defensive lineman David Agoha, fullback Jakob Johnson, offensive lineman Jordan Meredith, defensive lineman Matthew Butler, and defensive ends Elerson Smith and Charles Snowden.

The Raiders and their young fans enjoyed an evening of arts and crafts, an ice skating rink, games, and an inflatable area. It was indeed an event the children would never forget.

Consistently, the Raiders try to participate in the community and provide their fans with an invaluable experience.

While the Raiders have a crucial stretch of three games to conclude the season, football pales in comparison to being a community member. While young fans will root for players on the field, the Youth Holiday Party gave them even more reason to root for the person behind the uniform.

The Raiders cherish the opportunity to support their community, especially during the holidays when giving back is encouraged. The Raiders' dedication to ensuring a child has an unforgettable experience goes far beyond any touchdown they could score or any sack they could record.

The children who participated in the event received an unforgettable experience and have the opportunity to root for the players they interacted with and the people they are off the field.

The Silver and Black will return to action versus their AFC West rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, on Christmas Day at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Don't miss it on Monday, December 25, at 1 p.m. EST/10 a.m. PST.
