Zeus' Snaps to be Evaluated, But JJ is Still No. 1

In this story:
Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White had the best performance of his young NFL career against his team's greatest rival and the league's reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
White posted 145 rushing yards, with three game-clinching runs in the final drive of the Silver and Black's 20-14 victory on Christmas Day.
Between that outing and White's 69-yard, one-touchdown rushing display against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15, the second-year Raider has far exceeded the expectations placed on him.
At the same time, his friend, All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs, has watched from the sideline.
While White has made a case for deserving more snaps in the future, Raiders Interim Coach Antonio Pierce made it clear that, when healthy, the runing game will continue to be led by Jacobs, the NFL's defending rushing champion.
"I think everybody's -- like, we evaluate everything," Pierce told reporters Tuesday. "As you play, good players play. Like if you're a good player and you're producing and you're helping us win, you're playing.
"But don't get fooled. I mean, Josh Jacobs is one of the best running backs in the National Football League. And we've got somebody else who can help us out and contribute, so he's going to be right in that role. And Zeus knows that.
"It was really good to see him finish the game the way he finished. Very strong, very violent, very explosive, everything we've been seeing in practice came to fruition yesterday."
Jacobs has missed the Raiders' last two games due to a quad injury. Before that, the star running back had not sat out of a game since the 2021 season.
With two games remaining in Las Vegas's regular season, Jacobs has 805 rushing yards, six rushing touchdowns and 296 receiving yards.
Fortunately for the Raiders, as the club prepares to head back out on the road one last time during the regular season, White has proven they will be in good hands should Jacobs sit out for a third consecutive game.
The Silver and Black continue the season on New Year's Eve versus the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
