In this episode, we discuss some of the following topics:
· Josh McDaniels raised many eyebrows when the pads came on this week. It was a competitive risk and a crucial risk that paid off. We take you inside the camp to tell you why.
· The Las Vegas Raiders have been very careful with Jimmy Garoppolo. While it has garnered a lot of criticism for the Silver and Black leader, I tell you why it was the right thing and why the next two weeks of joint practices are far more critical than any preseason game.
· The Silver and Black are extremely cautious with new defensive end Tyree Wilson. We break down the strategy and how they are handling him.
· Neil Farrell and Matthew Butler were rookie defensive tackles last season. Farrell has not played yet in training camp, and a player like Butler is making plays, and Byron Young is back from the PUP list. Could he find himself on the outside looking in for a roster spot when other players are stepping up?
· Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, Hunter Renfrow, Tre Tucker, Phillip Dorsett, and DeAndre Carter are arguably the best wide receiver corp in the National Football League. How has Dave Ziegler upped the talent on this roster so quickly since the end of last year?
· The Las Vegas Raiders secondary is significantly better than the group they had last year. Again, General Manager Dave Ziegler has shown fiscal discipline why accumulating talent with a ferocious appetite.
· The Silver and Black's brain trust want the Raiders to be significantly tougher in 2023. In that pursuit, they added middle linebacker Robert Spillane, safety Marcus Epps and cornerback Marcus Peters. There is a lot of training camp left and 17 regular season games, but it seems to have worked so far.
The Silver and Black open the preseason by hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Aug. 13, at 4 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. PDT.
