Going into his third year in the NFL as a starting quarterback, it is time to expect great things from Jared Goff.

Year one was a learning experience under a coach who's scheme wasn't a fit. Year two saw Goff orchestrate one of the best offenses in the league under new coach Sean McVay — a perfect coaching fit — and lead his team to a Super Bowl.

That can only mean good things for year three.

After learning and excelling in McVay's system, Goff has a chance to really bloom into a dominant QB in 2019. Last season, the second-year player threw for 32 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, which ranked sixth in the NFL. Another year of experience under his belt in 2019 would mean big things for the Los Angeles Rams.

“I think the word that comes to mind is 'comfortability,'” said Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp, via TheRams.com. “He’s sitting back in the pocket and being able to, just before the play starts, being able to get us in and out of things. I think his comfortability and just being vocal about protections, communication going from him outwards has been incredible.

Once the game slows down for you, decision making gets better and accuracy often increases. Goff knows that the number of reps in his career that have led him here is to thank for the recent run of success.

“I think just the more reps you get, the more times on task, and the more times you see looks and are able to execute plays that have different defensive looks — it’s just about time,” Goff said. “Like anything else you do, it’s just about time and continuing to get better at it.”

Unfortunately, the Rams don't have much time to spare. With the way that the current roster is built, it is 'Win Now' in LA. Goff should be receiving an extension within the next year, and the level of production at overlooked positions will start to fall because of it — that's just the way of the NFL.

But with two solid years of experience under his belt, Goff knows what it takes to get the job done. He's been to the big game, he knows how it feels. Now is the time to take those experiences and turn them into successes.
