Former Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp's status for Week 5 remains unclear, but the Los Angeles Rams do expect to have one key contributor that appeared on the injury report active as they try to upset the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles

Running back Kyren Williams didn't practice Wednesday as he deals with a hip injury. However, Los Angeles coach Sean McVay says that he expects Williams to be active for the Week 5 tilt against the Eagles, despite the running back not practicing Wednesday.

“I do, he'll be good," McVay said. "On that first touchdown run, he took a good shot in his hip and so we're just being smart with him. He just took part in the walkthrough and so it's more precautionary than anything.”

Kyren Williams has had a strong start to the 2023 season for the Los Angeles Rams.

Kyren Williams has had a strong start to the 2023 season for the Los Angeles Rams.

A fifth-round pick in 2022, Williams has become a fantasy football darling early in his second NFL season, as he's already managed to find the end zone six times, five on rushing touchdowns and one on a receiving score. While the 3.8 yards per carry that Williams averaged through the first month of the season doesn't jump off the page, he did rush for 103 yards and score twice in an overtime win against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford -- dealing with a hip injury himself -- was a full participant in practice Wednesday, so the expectation is he'll also be in the lineup against the Eagles.

Meanwhile, the aforementioned Kupp was limited as he works his way back from a hamstring injury that cost him the first month of the season.

The Rams opened his 21-day practice window Wednesday, leaving open the possibility that he makes his season debut Sunday at SoFi Stadium. Kupp and star rookie Puka Nacua -- who has 39 catches for 501 yards already -- have a chance to form one of the league's best receiver duos, whenever it is that the former is able to return to the field.
