'Bright Future!' Packers Coach Matt LaFleur Excited for Hiring of Rams Ex Sean Mannion

Two former Los Angeles Rams - Matt LaFleur and Sean Mannion - are joining forces with the Green Bay Packers

The Los Angeles Rams have had a lot of members of their staff and team become coaches elsewhere, and many of them have landed on the same team.

Matt LaFleur was the offensive coordinator for the Rams back in 2017 and has been the head coach for the Green Bay Packers since 2019. And in the first week of February, the Packers hired former Rams backup quarterback Sean Mannion to be an offensive assistant and help with the team's passing game.

LaFleur was very pleased with the hire, as the Chicago Bears had been pursuing Mannion as well. he talked more about it in a recent interview addressing the new addition to his coaching staff.

"I’m surprised that they let him out of the building," LaFleur said, via Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "But they tried to get him. I guess we had more to offer, but we’re lucky to have him. I really do think this guy’s gonna have a bright future for us and certainly in the coaching profession."

Mannion was a backup quarterback for the Rams to start his career from 2015 to 2018, and he was in the NFL until last year. He never saw much time on the field, but his coaching career could be his true calling.

If Mannion does become a head coach at some point in the future, then it will be yet another person that has been under Sean McVay that has gone on to have success in the coaching side of football.
