Rams Place Restricted Tender on Tackle Alaric Jackson - NFL Tracker

Bringing you the latest breaking news and highlights for the Los Angeles Rams

MAR 8 JACKSON IS BACK The Los Angeles Rams are beginning to figure things out up front.

On Thursday night, the Rams placed the restricted free agent tender on starting left tackle Alaric Jackson according to reports from ESPN.

The tender will pay Jackson $3.11 million for one season. Under this tender, other teams can sign Jackson to offer sheets, which the Rams can match.

Jackson started 15 games for the Rams last season, and has started 21 games in his three-year career.

FEB 23 RIVERS RETURNS The Los Angeles Rams have tendered exclusive rights free agent running back Ronnie Rivers, per a team announcement.

When healthy, Rivers was the primary backup for Kyren Williams, rushing 32 times for 129 yards and catching five passes for 22 yards in nine games this past season.

Rivers is entering his third year with the team, coming to L.A. after brief stints with the Seahawks and Cardinals.

FEB 17 NACUA SOARS Apparently, Los Angeles Rams rookie star receiver Puka Nacua can do it all.

During his recent appearance in the NBA Celebrity basketball game on Friday night, Nacua dominated the competition, throwing down multiple thunderous dunks over defenders in the process.

The first of which, came on a break away from a steal in the first half, which Nacua finished with authority.

However, Nacua wasn't done there, icing the game with a dunk toward the end of regulation.

Nacua finished with 16 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons won the game's MVP award, finishing with 37 points and 16 rebounds.

FEB 14 WILKS OUT IN SAN FRAN According to multiple reports, the San Francisco 49ers and head coach Kyle Shanahan have fired defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.

The firing comes just days after the 49ers fell in Super Bowl LXIII to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In that game, the Chiefs amassed 455 yards of offense and outscored the 49ers 22-9 in the second half of regulation and overtime.

FEB 12 RAMS LOSE S&C COACH TO FALCONS Another Los Angeles Rams assistant coach is joining Raheem Morris with the Atlanta Falcons as according to 247Sports' Matt Zenitz, associate director of strength and conditioning John Griffin is leaving for a lead strength and conditioning role with the Dirty Birds.

Griffin, 35, was just promoted to his current role last offseason after spending the last two seasons as an assistant strength of conditioning coach. He and Morris each spent three years with the Rams, so it's an easy choice to bring him to Atlanta.

Before coming to L.A., Griffin spent time in the college ranks with both Baylor and South Carolina.

Griffin is the latest in a long line of Rams assistant coaches to join Morris in Atlanta. The list of coaches to do so includes new Falcons defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, among others.

JAN 26 DC CANDIDATE EMERGES According to reports from ESPN's Todd Archer, the Los Angeles Rams have requested an interview with Dallas Cowboys defensive line coach Aden Durde for their recently vacated defensive coordinator position.

Durde has been with the Cowboys since 2021, following Dan Quinn from Atlanta when he was named the team's defensive coordinator.

Should Quinn land a head coaching position with the Seahawks or Commanders, Durde will also likely be a candidate to fill the coordinator position under him.

Durde began his coaching career in the NFL as an intern with the Cowboys.

JAN 17 FOUR MORE FUTURES After signing 10 players to futures contracts on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Rams have signed four additional players on Wednesday.

Among those two signings were a pair of tight ends in Miller Forristall and Nikola Kalinic.

Forristall has played in six games in his NFL career and has gotten just one target.

L.A. also signed guard Grant Miller and wide receiver Xavier Smith to reserve/futures deals.

JAN 16 FUTURES SIGNED Following their loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams have signed 10 players to futures contracts, securing their practice squad players for the off-season.

Headlining the group is former third-round draft pick Logan Bruss, who the Rams waived at the end of August, and later added to the practice squad.

Los Angeles tried to make things work for Bruss, who moved back to right tackle during OTAs after spending much of his collegiate career there but was unable to make an impression.

The final nail in the coffin for Bruss was his difficult preseason, during which he received an overall grade of just 47.5 by Pro Football Focus, the fifth-worst mark on Los Angeles' offense.

After Bruss cleared waivers, he was brought back and spent the entirety of the season with the practice squad.

You can view the full list of players signed to futures contracts by the Rams below:

  1. Logan Bruss
  2. A.J. Arcuri
  3. Cory Durden
  4. Olakunle Fatukasi
  5. Tanner Ingle
  6. Mike McAllister
  7. Cameron McCutcheon
  8. Zachary Thomas
  9. Zach VanValkenburg
  10. Dresser Winn

JAN 15 RAMS TRAVEL DELAYED AFTER PLAYOFF LOSS The Los Angeles Rams' heartbreaking 24-23 loss to the Detroit Lions in Sunday night's wildcard round only worsened in the hours thereafter.

According to NFL Network, the Rams' plane finally touched down in Los Angeles shortly before 9 a.m. PST, over 12 hours after their playoff exit.

The Rams battled "plane issues and hours and hours of delays," slowing their return and making an already long, painful night even longer.

Nonetheless, the Rams are safely back home, putting their Detroit nightmares in the rearview mirror.

JAN 9 CHARGERS WANT MORRIS? Sitting as one of the most respected defensive coordinators in today's NFL, it is no surprise that Los Angeles Rams coach Raheem Morris is being heavily pursued for multiple openings across the league.

Morris had already been requested by the Panthers and Commanders since those jobs came open, and now there is another one.

This time, right across town with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers recently fired coach Brandon Staley after an extremely disappointing 5-9 season, in which his team fielded one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

Morris, who does have previous head coaching experience with the Buccaneers and Falcons (interim), going 21-38 through both stints.

Following the conclusion of the Rams matchup with the Lions in the Wild Card round, Morris will be free to interview virtually with the Chargers. In-person interviews are not permitted until after Divisional Round play.

JAN 7 CLOSING IN Just a few plays after Puka Nacua set the all-time rookie records for touchdowns and receptions in a season, the Los Angeles Rams have cut into the San Francisco 49ers lead at Levi's Stadium.

The Rams were able to get into the end zone with a Carson Wentz touchdown pass to Tyler Johnson, capping off a 17-play, 75-yard drive that took 10 minutes and 15 seconds off of the clock.

The touchdown pass was the second for Wentz in the game and the first TD catch for Johnson this season.

New Rams kicker Brett Maher missed the extra point, leaving the score 20-13 in favor of the 49ers.

JAN 1 KICKER CUT The Los Angeles Rams have struggled in the kicking game in recent weeks, and on multiple occasions, it has nearly cost them.

And after another rough day on Sunday, the Rams have decided to make a change, cutting kicker Lucas Havrisik, per a team announcement.

Havrisik was 15 of 20 kicking field goals and 19 of 22 on extra points - two of which he missed Sunday.

DEC 31 WILLIAMS TD The Los Angeles Rams picked up where they left off from last week on Sunday vs. the New York Giants, jumping out to an early lead with a short Kyren Williams touchdown run.

Williams was heavily featured on the drive and has seven carries for 33 yards and score, plus one catch for five yards. It was Williams' 10th touchdown of the season.

DEC 21 OHTANI IN THE HOUSE According to reports, MLB superstar Shohei Otani will be in attendance for the Rams Thursday Night Football matchup vs. the New Orleans Saints at SoFi Stadium.

Fellow Japanese baseball star Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who is one of the most high pursued free agents in baseball at the moment was expected to be in attendance as well.

According to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal, however, Yamamoto will not be at SoFi.

Ohtani, of course, recently just signed a massive 10-year $700-million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers this offseason.

DEC 16 HAVENSTEIN BACK? Following their win over the Washington Commanders, the Los Angeles got even more good news on Sunday afternoon.

Per head coach Sean McVay Rams offensive tackle Rob Havenstein is expected to be back for the team's Thursday night matchup vs. the Saints at SoFi Stadium.

“I think he will be back, yeah,” McVay said when asked about Havenstein's status.

Havenstein was lost to a groin injury during the team's narrow loss to the Ravens last Sunday, leaving the Rams vulnerable to the pass rush vs. Washington.

DEC 14 STALEY OUT Former Los Angeles defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, who has spent the last three seasons as the head coach of the Chargers, has been fired, the team announced.

The firing occurred less than 24 hours after the Chargers shocking 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night.

Staley was once a highly coveted head coaching prospect thanks to the elite defenses he helped the Rams put on the field.

That was particularly the case in 2020 when the Rams led the NFL in total defense and scoring defense under Staley's leadership. Staley then parlayed that elite season into the Chargers head job.

Unfortunately for Staley, he could not replicate that success with the Chargers, finishing his stint with the team 24-24, and just 5-9 in 2023.

DEC 13 SUPER SOFI Los Angeles and SoFi Stadium are getting another chance to host a Super Bowl.

According to the NFL's Wednesday news release, SoFi Stadium will be the location for Super Bowl LXI in 2027.

L.A. was last the host for the Super Bowl in 2022 when Matthew Stafford and the Rams took down Joe Burrow and the Bengals 23-20.

The league also revealed the dates of the 2024, 2025, and 2026 Super Bowls, which will be hosted in at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the Superdome in New Orleans, and Levis Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., respectively.

DEC 10 STAFFORD FOR SIX AGAIN Matthew Stafford threw his second passing touchdown of the day late in the first half against the Baltimore Ravens to give his team the lead once again on the road.

This score was a connection between Stafford and Davis Allen, his first reception of the day. You can view the play below.

DEC 8 JACKSON 'FULL OF LIFE' According to Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, star quarterback Lamar Jackson is 'full of life' and will play Sunday vs. the Los Angeles Rams at M&T Bank Stadium.

Jackson missed Thursday's practice with what was described as an illness, throwing his status for the game into question.

However, based on what Harbaugh told the media on Friday, it seems Jackson is feeling much better.

"He was feeling good... full of life," Harbaugh said. "He looked good out there. He was back. He's recovered."

Jackson has thrown for 2,618 yards and 13 touchdowns, with five interceptions, while rushing for 574 yards and five more scores this season.

DEC 6 RAMS SIGN MASON CROSBY With their kicking game struggling all season, the Rams are bringing in some veteran help by signing Mason Crosby to their practice squad, NFL Network's Mike Garofalo reports.

Crosby, 39, has spent the entirety of his 16-year career to this point with the Green Bay Packers. In that time, he has made 81.4 percent of his field goals and 97.3 percent of his extra points. He also helped the Packers win a Super Bowl during the 2010 season.

Garofalo notes that the Rams intend to promote Crosby to their active roster soon, likely indicating the end of Lucas Havrisik's time as L.A.'s starting kicker. Havrisik made seven of 10 field goals and 10 of 11 extra points after taking over for Brett Maher in late October.

Crosby reportedly worked out for the Rams when they were looking for options to replace Maher, but they decided to go with Havrisik instead. Now, the longtime Packers kicker finally gets a chance to resume his NFL career elsewhere.

DEC 3 PUKA TD The Los Angeles Rams have taken an early lead in the first quarter over the Cleveland Browns, thanks in large part to the heroics of rookie sensation wide receiver, Puka Nacua.

Nacua, who is in the midst of one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history, regardless of position, did it again Sunday, taking a pass 70 yards for a touchdown from Matthew Stafford.

The score put the Rams up 10-7 in the first quarter and both shot Nacua over 1,000 receiving yards for the season and gave him his fourth touchdown.

NOV 30 MILLER FACING CHARGES According to reports from WFAA News in Dallas, former Los Angeles Rams pass rusher Von Miller is facing multiple domestic violence charges in Dallas.

Miller's girlfriend, who is reportedly pregnant with their child, accused him of assaulting her in their home on Wednesday morning, and a warrant has now been issued for his arrest.

Per WFAA, since Miller's girlfriend is pregnant, the charges amount to a third-degree felony.

Miller's current team, the Buffalo Bills, released a statement on the situation shortly after the reports came to light.

“This morning, we were made aware of an incident involving Von Miller. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this point.”

NOV 27 KYREN GAME BALL Following his dominating performance against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams received the game ball in his first contest back from injury.

You can see the video of Williams receiving the honor below.

“I thought you guys created your energy right from the jump," McVay said, "but this guy, he definitely creates (expletive) energy for this football team. Great to be able to have him back. Kyren Williams.

Williams was unquestionably the MVP of the Rams' win over the Cardinals this week, putting up 143 yards on the ground on 16 carries. He joined quarterback Matthew Stafford, also a recent return from injury, in helping the Rams' offense tick, putting up a season-high 37 points in the win.

NOV 26 KYREN IS BACK The Los Angeles Rams got off to a roaring start against their NFC West Rival Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

And with just under a minute to go, they kept it going, with Rams running back Kyren Williams - who was making his long-awaited return from injury - taking a Matthew Stafford pass into the end zone for a 15-yard score.

The touchdown extended the Rams lead to two scores at 21-8.

Upon his return to the lineup, Williams has picked up where he left off, rushing nine times for 40 yards, and catching four passes for 56 yards and the Stafford touchdown.

NOV 22 FULLER NOMINATED FOR ROONEY AWARD The Los Angeles Rams have nominated safety Jordan Fuller for the 2023 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, reports indicated on Wednesday. This award is given each year to the player who best displays “on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition.”

Fuller is one of 32 nominees from across the league, one from each franchise. You can see the full list of nominees below.

It's also worth noting that two former Rams were nominated for the award as well: Robert Woods (Texans) and Bobby Wagner (Seahawks).

NOV 19 NOT DONE YET The Los Angeles Rams trail the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, but the gap was lessened in the fourth quarter with a one-yard touchdown rush from Darrell Henderson.

The Rams offense has been stagnant for much of the game, but Henderson's score made the deficit just two points. You can view the play below.

The Rams went on to force a turnover, and they drove down and sunk a field goal to claim a 17-16 lead with less than two minutes to play, their first lead of the day.

NOV 12 AARON THE MOTIVATOR The Los Angeles Rams may have had an off week, but Aaron Donald still found a way to make a difference on the football field.

On Friday night, Donald went to visit his former high school, the Penn Hills Indians, where he gave a halftime pep talk to his old team.

The Indians went on to lose the game, however, dropping to 9-3 for the season.

NOV 11 RYPIEN FINDS NEW HOME The Seattle Seahawks have signed Brett Rypien to their practice squad. Rypien was released by the Rams earlier this week after the team signed veteran quarterback Carson Wentz as insurance for Matthew Stafford. Rypien completed 13 of 28 pass attempts for 130 yards and an interception in a 20-3 Week 9 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

NOV 1 HENDERSON ELEVATED The Rams announced on Wednesday that running back Darrell Henderson has been elevated to the 53-man roster after signing to the team's practice squad last month.

The move was made necessary after injuries to Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers. Henderson has 30 carries for 92 yards and one touchdown, in addition to four catches for 59 yards.

NOV 1 RAMS MAKE PRACTICE SQUAD ADDITION With starting quarterback Matthew Stafford "day-to-day" with the thumb injury he suffered in the loss to the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Rams have added Dresser Winn to their practice squad.

A spot on the practice squad was opened up on Wednesday when the Rams elevated running back Darrell Henderson to the 53-man roster. Winn rejoins the Rams after being let go following the conclusion of the preseason.

OCT 25 RAMS WORKING OUT MULTIPLE NFL KICKERS After the signing of Lucas Havrisik to replace veteran kicker Brett Maher on Tuesday, reports indicate that the Los Angeles Rams may not be finished in improving their kicker room.

According to a report from Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Rams are working out "a group" of kickers on Wednesday, including former Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby. All of Crosby's 16 years in the NFL have been spent in Green Bay, so this may turn into his first opportunity to kick for a different team, should the Rams sign him.

OCT 24 RAMS FIND NEW KICKER After releasing veteran kicker Brett Maher early Tuesday afternoon, the Los Angeles Rams have announced the signing of his replacement, Lucas Havrisik, off the Cleveland Browns practice squad.

Havrisik, the second-year placekicker out of Arizona, has yet to kick in a regular season after spending last season on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad before a brief stint with the Browns.

However, in his three preseason games this year, the new Rams kicker made both of his two field goal attempts and three of his four extra points.

Havrisik will get his first shot at a debut with the Rams on Sunday when the team travels to AT&T Stadium to face the Dallas Cowboys.

OCT 22 NACUA'S GRAB Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua's rookie of the year campaign has continued to roll on on Sunday vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.

And this time, he might have just made the catch of the year.

Early in the third quarter with his team trailing 10-9, Nacua made a catch in double coverage off of a deep pass from Matthew Stafford.

Somehow, Nacua managed to get both feet in bounds despite being pushed out while coming down by the Pittsburgh defenders, securing the ball for a 32-yard gain.

Just a couple of plays later, Nacua made another highlight reel play, breaking tackles after catching a crossing route for a 20-yard gain, giving him seven catches for 147 yards on the day.

The Rams capped off the drive with a Darrell Henderson touchdown run from one yard out, and a Cooper Kupp two-point conversion to put themselves up 17-10 with just under nine minutes to go in the third quarter.

OCT 20 KENDRICK PLAYING VS. STEELERS? While Los Angeles Rams cornerback Derion Kendrick was arrested just hours after the team's win over the Arizona Cardinals on a felony weapons charge, coach Sean McVay indicated on Friday that the second-year defensive back could still see action versus the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

"I trust this kid's heart," McVay said Friday about Kendrick. "I believe in him. I also believe in forgiveness and understanding. ... Based on my understanding of what occurred, I feel like this is something we can move forward with."

Since the arrest, Kendrick returned to Rams practice on Thursday just for the team walkthroughs but will participate on Friday, according to McVay.

So far, Kendrick has started every game this season, totaling 25 tackles, three passes defended, and two tackles for loss. He's been targeted 30 times and allowed only 15 receptions for 134 yards, according to Pro Football Reference.

OCT 19 DEPTH AT DEFENSIVE TACKLE The Los Angeles Rams announced on Thursday that have signed defensive tackle Cory Durden to their active roster.

Durden appeared in the team's Week 6 win over Arizona and will now add depth to the 53-man roster. As an undrafted free agent from NC State, Durden was with Detroit in the offseason before signing with the Rams' practice squad in September.

Los Angeles also signed defensive back Shaun Jolly to its practice squad.

OCT 17 MAKING MOVES AT RB The Los Angeles Rams are preparing for life without running back Kyren Williams, who suffered an ankle injury in his breakout game vs. the Arizona Cardinals.

Backup running back Ronnie Rivers will also be missing time, diagnosed with a Grade 3 PCL sprain.

On Tuesday, they promoted running back Royce Freeman to the active roster from the practice squad. Taking his spot on the practice squad, for now, is running back Darrell Henderson. The Rams will also be signing veteran running back Myles Gaskin to the practice squad, per reports.

Henderson was Los Angeles' third-round pick in 2019. In four years with the Rams, he accumulated 396 rushes for 1,742 yards and 13 scores. Last season, he had 87 touches for 385 yards and three touchdowns.

The moves come just days after Los Angeles' best rushing performance of the season, where they posted 179 yards and controlled much of the second half. These backs should provide depth for rookie running back Zach Evans, who saw four touches in mop-up duty in Week 6.

OCT 15 STAFFORD TO KUPP Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp finally broke the touchdown drought in the Los Angeles Rams matchup vs. the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, with the two veterans connecting for the game's first TD, and giving L.A. the 13-9 lead.

Before the touchdown, the two teams had traded five field goals, with the Cardinals holding the slim 9-6 lead.

Coming into the game, Kupp had 225 catches for 2,878 yards and 23 touchdowns in 26 games with Stafford under center with the Rams.

With the score, Kupp has 114 yards and four catches, while Stafford has completed 9 of 16 passes for 147 and the touchdown.

OCT 8 WITHERSPOON PICK The Los Angeles Rams are locked in a tight matchup with the Philadephia Eagles at Sofi Stadium on Sunday.

And cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon made one of the biggest plays of the game in the third quarter.

With the Rams trailing 17-14 midway through the third quarter and the Eagles driving in for another score, Witherspoon intercepted QB Jalen Hurts in the end zone, stopping the drive in its tracks.

The Rams were unable to convert the turnover into points, however, punting the ball back to the Eagles after a quick five-play drive.

SEPT 30 MILLER TIME? Former Los Angeles Rams pass rusher Von Miller is "expected to resume practicing this week" for the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The future Hall of Famer had eight sacks and 10 tackles for a loss in 11 games for the Bills in 2022, before suffering a season-ending torn right ACL. Miller, of course, was a key part of the Rams' defense that helped to cement a Super Bowl LVI victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

SEPT 29 RICHARDSON VS RAMS Officially back and playing in Week 4 / against the Rams - according to Colts coach Shane Steichen …

Is dynamic rookie QB Anthony Richardson, who has cleared concussion protocol and will start Sunday vs. the Rams. Richardson, arguably one of the greatest pure athletes to ever play QB in NFL, will add a huge level of challenge to Aaron Donald and the LA defense,

Carter, tight end Nikola Kalinic, defensive back Quindell Johnson, linebackers Daniel Hardy, Jaiden Woodbey and Keir Thomas, guard Grant Miller, wide receivers Xavier Smith and Austin Trammell and quarterback Dresser Winn.

Los Angeles terminated the contracts of "vested veterans:" Rypien, Freeman and defensive tackle Marquise Copeland, and it waived Torrence and linebacker DeAndre Squre who are both injured.

AUGUST 28 The Los Angeles Rams announced a flurry of cuts ahead of the 53-man roster deadline on Tuesday, including a fan-favorite roster bubble candidate, Lance McCutcheon.

McCutcheon, of course, exploded onto the scene in the 2022 preseason but was never able to make an impact on the field after that.

You can view the full list of announced cuts from the Rams below:

AUGUST 28 The Los Angeles Rams waived rookie defensive back Tanner Ingle Monday, according to KRPC's Aaron Wilson.

Ingle shined in the Rams' preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, recording two tackles — both for loss — with a sack. He recorded a tackle against the Las Vegas Raiders but did not appear in the stat sheet in Los Angeles' preseason finale Saturday.

The Rams will likely carry nine defensive backs in their secondary, which will mean they'll have to cut half of the remainder they have in the room.

AUGUST 28 The Los Angeles Rams waived defensive tackle Taron Vincent Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Vincent, the son of former NFL cornerback and current Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent, was an undrafted free agent signing by the Rams on May 15. The Baltimore native recorded four tackles in three preseason games.

Vincent is the first player to be released since Los Angeles wrapped up its preseason finale against the Denver Broncos on Saturday, losing 41-0. Vincent had two tackles.

In five seasons for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Vincent recorded 59 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and his only career fumble recovery against the Iowa Hawkeyes Oct. 22, 2022.

The three other defensive tackles remaining on the Rams roster are All-Pro Aaron Donald, Marquise Copeland and Larrell Murchison. Donald didn't play in any preseason games as not to risk injury, but Copeland and Murchison combined for eight tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack.

The Rams still have many more decisions to make ahead of Tuesday's 1 p.m. CT deadline in which they will have to have their 53-man active roster finalized. Los Angeles will also have 16 practice squad players on the roster.
