Rams Preparing Bid To Host Super Bowl Again in 2027

The Los Angeles Rams are preparing a bid to host the Super Bowl in 2027 after previously doing so in 2022

The Los Angeles Rams are working to bring the Super Bowl back to SoFi Stadium.

According to Sports Business Journal, Rams COO Kevin Demoff said at the CAA World Congress of Sports on Wednesday that the team is planning a bid to host Super Bowl LXI in 2027. This comes just a year after SoFi Stadium hosted its first Super Bowl, which the Rams won in their home stadium.

Since its opening in 2020, SoFi Stadium has hosted several major sporting events. In addition to the aforementioned Super Bowl, the $5 billion stadium also hosted the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship.

However, SoFi stadium's most exciting days are still yet to come. The venue will host multiple matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, then host multiple events in the 2028 Summer Olympics, including the opening and closing ceremonies. If the 2027 Super Bowl bid is successful, SoFi stadium will host three of the biggest sporting events in the world in as many years.

“That run of ’26 World Cup, hopefully maybe ’27 Super Bowl — I don’t want to spill the beans here, but we are interested — Olympics in 2028, that run would be unprecedented,” Demoff said.

Currently, the NFL has only officially announced the location of the next two Super Bowls. Allegiant Stadium will host the big game in 2024, marking the first time it will be played in Las Vegas. It will then return to Caesars Superdome in New Orleans in 2025, marking the eighth time the venue will host the big game.

The site for 2026 is still unknown, but according to NBC Sports Bay Area, the San Francisco 49ers are making a run at it. 49ers CEO Jed York even said that he feels "fairly confident" about Super Bowl LX coming to Levi's Stadium. If both the 49ers' and Rams' bids succeed, it will mark the first time California has hosted back-to-back Super Bowls.

Of course, the Rams fared pretty well the last time the Super Bowl was on their home field.
