Los Angeles Rams Halftime Dallas Cowboys

ARLINGTON, TX -- Matthew Stafford's homecoming is off to a rough start.

After a disastrous first quarter in their Sunday afternoon matchup vs. the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium, the Los Angeles Rams have found themselves in a major hole, trailing 33-9 heading into halftime in Arlington.

On the first drive of the game from Dallas, quarterback Dak Prescott led the Cowboys down the field for an opening drive touchdown, putting L.A. in an early 7-0 hole.

Then after trading field goals, the first disaster took play, with Stafford throwing a pick-six to Cowboys defensive back Daron Bland, putting the Rams in a 17-3 hole.

On their next possession, things got even worse for L.A., with the Cowboys blocking a Rams punt, which rolled out of the back of the endzone for the safety.

Not long after that, the Cowboys were on the board yet again, with Prescott hitting CeeDee Lamb in the end zone for a touchdown, and putting Dallas up 26-3 with less than three minutes off of the clock in the second quarter.

The Cowboys managed to get on the board once more at the end of the half on another Prescott-to-Lamb connection, making the score 33-3.

Fortunately for the Rams, they were able to minimize the damage of that particular score by getting in the end zone themselves for the first time all day to cut the lead to 33-9 - though they missed the point after attempt.

To make things even worse for L.A., they lost their top corner, Cobie Durant to a shoulder injury. Durant is currently questionable to return.

The Rams did have a handful of positives in the first half, including the touchdown.

Most notably, the play of Aaron Donald, who had two sacks in the first two quarters.

L.A. also forced a Cowboys turnover in the red zone, stopping a potential scoring dive that would have made the Dallas lead truly insurmountable, at the time.

The Rams will receive the ball to start the second half of play, hoping to find some momentum early to start building their comeback bid.
