Report: Ravens Offer Lamar Jackson Better Deal Than Jalen Hurts

PITTSBURGH -- Only 10 days away from the NFL Draft, the AFC North is catching fire. The Pittsburgh Steelers are rumored to be ready to move up into the top 10 for a defensive star. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens are continuing to own NFL headlines as they deal with Lamar Jackson's contract situation.
In the latest turn of events, it appears the Ravens weren't that far off from a deal that took over the sports world. The Philadelphia Eagles and their quarterback, Jalen Hurts, agreed to a five-year contract worth $255 million with $178.3 million guaranteed.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, that guaranteed number for Hurts is actually lower than a deal the Ravens offered Jackson.
During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Rapoport debunks the belief that Baltimore only offered Jackson $133 million guaranteed. The real number, according to Rapoport, who went off of a comparison created by Ravens Vault host Sarah Ellison, is actually $200 total guaranteed.

The full breakdown includes $133 guaranteed in the first year, $175 million in injury guarantees and the other $25 million guaranteed coming in year four, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.

Jackson has been looking for as much guaranteed money as possible after Deshaun Watson received a fully-guaranteed deal last summer. However, with Hurts's deal seemingly a road map for the Ravens and Jackson to get a deal done, you have to wonder how much higher Baltimore's number will rise.
Hurts received $51 million a year with his contract, while Jackson was offered $50 million per year. The total value of Hurts contract is $255 million, while Jackson's offer was $250 million.
If he's looking for even more guaranteed money, he may need to wait and see what other quarterbacks like Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow sign for.
