Jaylen Samuels Returns to Practice, Taking Injury "day-by-day"

Jaylen Samuels' original injury timeline was 'roughly a month' according to Mike Tomlin. After having arthroscopic surgery on his knee to discover a sprain, the running back has been sidelined for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
According to Samuels, he isn't sure when he'll return to game action, but he is taking steps towards recovery. Participating in individual drills on Wednesday, Samuels is beginning to get back into the offensive game plan.
"I started running over the weekend, started cutting yesterday and I did a little bit of individual today," Samuels said. "It felt good. Just taking it day-by-day, not trying to take any step backs."
Benny Snell Jr. rushed for 75 yards against Los Angeles as Samuels was sidelined with the knee sprain. Snell and James Conner were pointed out as the biggest contributors of the offense, something Samuels loved to see.
"It was amazing," Samuels said. "I was watching the game at my house, and just to see all those guys play so well - both offense and defense - it was amazing. For them to start off that fast, it was perfect."
Samuels says his knee is feeling better, and he's taking his recovery in steps. Without any certainty when he'll be back on the field for a game, the running back is focused on moving forward as much as possible.
"I felt pretty good," Samuels said. "See how I look the rest of the week. I'm just trying to take it day-by-day, hoping I feel better every day and not take any step backs. I haven't taken any step backs since surgery."
