NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans' quarterback situation has been much discussed throughout the offseason. Questions about whether Ryan Tannehill will remain as the team's starter and whether Tannehill can take the Titans to the promise land have been asked. According to former Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan, Tannehill can take the Titans to a championship.

Lewan references a "lotta hate" for Ryan Tannehill. It is true Tannehill takes an undeserved amount of hate from the fan base and those outside of it. As Lewan points out, Tannehill has taken the team to heights they hadn't seen in a decade when he took over mid way through the 2019 season.

Some of that hate and doubt directed towards Tannehill comes from logical places though. Tannehill has had sub-par statistical performances in the playoffs with a 62% completion percentage and an average of 150 yards per game in five contests.

Tannehill has only won two of the five playoff games he has played and hasn't won since the Titans 2019 playoff run. In those five games he has thrown for only seven touchdowns, but five interceptions.

Tannehill has been average at best in the playoffs, so while the first part of Lewan's tweet may be true, it is fair to say the second part about Tannehill being able to win a Super Bowl is questionable.

Tannehill clearly isn't one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL, but has shown with a great supporting cast he can pilot a team to the playoffs with consistency. However, we have seen Tannehill with great supporting casts and he still wasn't able to even get the Titans to the big game, let alone win it.

Lewan may be right and maybe you can win a Super Bowl with Tannehill, but the evidence isn't there to say it looks likely and it is hard to imagine the Titans' roster being good enough to support him any time soon.
