Tennessee Titans See 14 Players Miss Wednesday's Practice Including Will Levis & Jeffery Simmons

The Tennessee Titans' injury report for Wednesday's practice was as long as it has been all season and featured some key names such as Will Levis and Jeffery Simmons being absent. To go along with the lengthy injury report, the Titans also placed key wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine on injured reserve.

The Tennessee Titans look like a team that is beginning to break down as we head into preparation for Week 16's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks and there is no better evidence than Wednesday's injury report that featured 14 players missing practice.

Among those that were non-participants were Will Levis, Jeffery Simmons, Treylon Burks and Amani Hooker. Certainly all of the players who missed on Wednesday won't miss the game Sunday, but a concerning start nonetheless.

At least some solace can be found in the lack of players who were limited. Only Denico Autry and DeAndre Hopkins fell in that group and both missed as a veteran rest day, not as injured. Josh Whyle returned as a full participant after missing the last two weeks.

The two biggest names to miss practice though are Jeffery Simmons and Will Levis and both of them would count as players who realistically could miss Week 16. Levis has a high ankle sprain and Mike Vrabel has already announced Ryan Tannehill will be the starter if Levis can't play.

Simmons has missed the past two games and at this point in the season, with the playoffs off the table, it would be unwise for Simmons to return and risk further injury this late in the year. Vrabel is big on player's getting a whole week of practice when returning from injury.

The Titans also place wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine on injured reserve with an injury sustained against the Houston Texans. Westbrook-Ikhine has been a valuable contributor this year as one of the top snap-getters at his position and a physical player who matches the Titans' ethos. Westbrook-Ikhine will be out for the remainder of the season and will be a free agent at the end of the season.

  • HENRY-TITANS REUNION: Tennessee Titans star Derrick Henry will be entering free agency after the season and there is the chance he will not return in 2024, but if there is to be a reunion, it will be about Henry's fit in the offense just as much as the price to bring him back. CLICK HERE
  • LEVIS SHOULD SIT: The Tennessee Titans not only lost any chance at the playoffs by losing to the Houston Texans in Week 15, but they also saw their rookie quarterback get injured. If the Titans are smart, they will sit Will Levis for the rest of the season in a move that is best for both team and player. CLICK HERE
