NASHVILLE — The concern about the Tennessee Titans' offense continues to grow. At first, it was mostly the fan base expressing their worries, but as we have moved past the primary portion of free agency and the NFL draft, people outside the Titans daily ecosystem are starting to notice how poor this team's offensive group is.

That includes Arif Hasan from Pro Football Network, who recently ranked the Titans' offense as the fourth worst in the entire NFL. Only ranking ahead of the Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams. Surprisingly, what Hasan had to say about the Titans wasn't all negative.

"If we see 2019 Ryan Tannehill, this offense has the ability to threaten top-10 status. But the weaknesses they have along the offensive line and receiver, as well as the overall decline in the performance of the running game and at quarterback, mean that they might have one of the worst offenses in the NFL."

Ryan Tannehill from 2019 would be a welcome sight. The only issue is, three aspects of the Titans' 2019 offense are not walking through that door. Arthur Smith, a competent offensive line and AJ Brown. Without those, it is hard to imagine Tannehill playing up to that level.

As Hasan notes, the obvious weaknesses the Titans will certainly face as they head into the season make it difficult to expect Tannehill to play his best.

Maybe, with the additions of first-round pick Peter Skoronski and free-agent signings Andre Dillard and Daniel Brunskill, the Titans blocking can improve in a major way. Maybe, Treylon Burks emerges as a true WR1 in the NFL in a way that makes him a suitable replacement to Brown. Maybe, Tim Kelly's promotion to offensive coordinator adds juice to the offense it lacked under Todd Downing.

That is a lot of maybes. Considering the chances all of those maybes turn into certainties is low, you can't blame Hasan for placing the Titans where he did.
