Alize Mack NFL Draft Interview

We recently had the chance to pick the brain of the top tight ends in the up coming 2019 NFL Draft. We all know how much Rick Spielman loves his golden domers and it just so happens the Vikings could be on the hunt for a tight end. Mack will be a name to keep an eye on in the coming months as a possible Viking target. In the mean time, get to know the pass catcher by soaking in the interview below.
Onebar: What are you plans in the coming months leading up to the NFL Draft?
Alize Mack: Leading up to the draft, I want to stay focused on the things I can improve on. Right now I am training with some great people at EXOS and working on improving my strength and speed. Those are two important parts of my game and I want to make sure I hit the best possible numbers I can at the Combine in Indy. After the Combine, I want to get right back into "football shape" and make sure I am as well prepared for team visits as possible. So far, things have been going great, and I just want to continue to improve each day.
Onebar: Toughest part about leaving Notre Dame for the NFL Draft?
Alize Mack: The toughest part about leaving Notre Dame for the NFL Draft was saying goodbye to my teammates and coaches. Notre Dame is truly a special place, and to have had the opportunity to grow as a person, athletically, academically and spiritually was an awesome experience. It’s been one hell of a 4 years at Notre Dame and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Onebar: What part of your game needs the most polishing?
Alize Mack: I think I play a pretty complete game as a tight end. I'm very confident in both my blocking as well as route running/catching ability. Having said that, I try and improve every day, so I will continue to work on all aspects of my game. Tight end is a unique position that requires o-line skills as well as receiver skills, so each day I try and polish at least one of those areas so I can be as complete of a player as possible.
Onebar: Greatest moment on and off the field during your college career?
Alize Mack: My greatest moment on the field during my college career was scoring 2 touchdowns in a Florida State win on Senior Night. Through all the ups and downs I’ve gone through at Notre Dame, to walk away with a win in my last home game ever in that stadium; it couldn’t have went a better way.
Onebar: Best part about being part of the Notre Dame Family?
Alize Mack: The best part about being a part of the Notre Dame family is because it is just that, family. Notre Dame is a place of spirituality, love, character, personality, and vision. To be a part of the Irish family was something that I’ll forever cherish in my heart.
Onebar: Notre Dame has turned into Tight End U, in your eyes, who is the greatest tight end to come out of Notre Dame?
Alize Mack: In my eyes the greatest tight end to come out of Notre Dame was hands down, Tyler Eifert. The guy was a pure mismatch freak!
Onebar: What can we catch Alize Mack doing on an off day?
Alize Mack: On an off day you can catch Alizé recovering, sleeping, eating , and watching Netflix.
Onebar: Using one word, describe your style of play.
Alize Mack: Mismatch.
