Former Vikings starting cornerback Cameron Dantzler, who was recently released by the Commanders, has signed a one-year deal with the Bills.

Dantzler didn't have to wait long for another opportunity after his surprising early release by Washington, who claimed him on waivers when the Vikings released him in March. It's been a tough few months for the fourth-year corner, getting cut by multiple teams, but now he'll turn his focus towards making Buffalo's roster and contributing to a contender.

Selected in the third round out of Mississippi State in 2020, Dantzler looked like a potential future star at times during his Vikings tenure. He started ten games for Mike Zimmer as a rookie and seven more in 2021, posting impressive PFF grades that hinted at a bright future. However, he also drew the ire of Zimmer and his coaching staff by frequently being on the wrong end of big plays, including the game-winning touchdown pass by the then-winless Lions in '21.

After a promising rookie season, Dantzler lost his starting job to Bashaud Breeland out of training camp in year two, though he still went on to set career highs in passes defended and tackles that season. He started nine more games last season under Kevin O'Connell and Ed Donatell, but his production dropped enough that he got benched for Duke Shelley in the second half of the year.

Across his time in Minnesota, Dantzler appeared in 35 games with 26 starts, recording 149 tackles, 6 TFL, 17 passes defended, three INTs, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

With Buffalo, the 6'2" Dantzler will compete in a cornerback room that includes players like Tre'Davious White, Kaiir Elam, Dane Jackson, Taron Johnson, Siran Neal, Christian Benford, and Cam Lewis.
