Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is this year's winner of the Korey Stringer Good Guy Award, as voted on by local beat writers. The award is given each year to a player who demonstrates exceptional cooperation and authenticity with the media. Cousins accept the award and a plaque at TCO Performance Center on Friday.

Cousins held two press conferences a week as the Vikings' starting quarterback prior to going on injured reserve at the end of October. The fact that he still won the award despite landing on IR halfway through the season is a testament to how available, open, and friendly he was with local reporters this year. Even after getting hurt, Cousins has been present in the facility — and chose to hold a presser in mid-November to discuss his injury and future.

"It means a lot," Cousins said. It's something that, when I get done playing, the wins and things matter, certainly, but being the right person is what my dad raised me to be, what I want my boys to be, so ultimately if you win a bunch but people say he doesn't belong anywhere near this award, I would say I failed. It means probably more than you guys think or know, but thank you."

Cousins is a free agent after this season, but he has expressed a desire to remain with the Vikings in 2024 and beyond.

Cousins is the first quarterback to win this award since Daunte Culpepper in 2003 and 2004. The full list of winners is below:
