Vikings Add Sam LeDuca, Matt Kelly to Front Office

Two new additions to Kwesi Adofo-Mensah's staff.

Earlier this week, we wrote about a couple departures in the Vikings' front office: longtime scout and director of analytics Scott Kuhn, as well as director of pro personnel Chris Blanco.

On Thursday, two additions to Kwesi Adofo-Mensah's front office were reported. The Vikings have hired Sam DeLuca as senior assistant director of pro personnel, according to Neil Stratton. They've also hired Matt Kelly as a west coast area scout.

DeLuca more or less replaces Blanco in the front office. He spent the last decade working for the Browns, most recently as their assistant director of pro scouting. DeLuca and Adofo-Mensah presumably have a relationship from their time together in Cleveland; before becoming the Vikings' GM, Adofo-Mensah spent two seasons as the Browns' VP of football operations under GM Andrew Berry.

DeLuca got his NFL start as a ball boy and equipment assistant for the Eagles when he was in high school. During two of his summers while attending Arizona State, he worked for the Eagles as a pro personnel scouting intern. He got started with the Browns in 2013 as a scouting assistant.

Kelly was most recently the director of football operations for the Reese's Senior Bowl. Now he joins the Vikings as an area scout on the west coast. Kelly previously had stops with the Eagles and University of Georgia.
