ROUND 1. - Cody Ford G, Oklahoma

If Rick Spielman doesn’t take an offensive lineman here, heads are gonna roll. Ford is a powerful man who is also a great athlete. He is versatile and could play tackle for the Vikings, so he essentially fills two holes at once. Which is something I know I’ve never done.

ROUND 2. Michael Jordan G/C, Ohio St.

The Vikings go back to back guards and the fans are wet with excitement over these usually unsexy picks. Jordan can play guard or center, and has good size, power, and footwork. He’d likely start from day one.

ROUND 3. Jalen Jelks OLB, Oregon

Anthony Barr is as good as gone and the Vikings don’t have an ideal replacement for him currently on the roster. Jelks has similar size as Barr, and has shown the ability to be an explosive pass rusher in college. Mike Zimmer could coach him up and have a downright beast on his mitts.

ROUND 4. Demarcus Christmas DL, FSU

As much as Vikings fans may want him back, Sheldon Richardson’s time with the team could be over. The Vikings aren’t exactly loaded with depth behind him, so using a fairly early draft pick on a defensive tackle is a real possibility. Demarcus hails from a Spielman fave school in FSU, and is a stout 6’3, 311 lbs. Plus his name is Christmas so that is always a bonus.

ROUND 6. Ventell Bryant WR, Temple

If the Vikings receiving corps lacks anything, it’s size. Bryant stands 6’4 and is 200 lbs. He could add a few more pounds but gives Cousins a big ol’ target. With Treadwell likely gone the Vikings could very well add a big pass catcher in this year’s Draft.
