In this story:

The stage is all set for the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers to battle in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas. It should be quite the spectacle. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are going for their third Super Bowl victory in five years, while Kyle Shanahan and Brock Purdy are hoping to lead the 49ers to their first title since 1993.

There isn't a major presence of former Vikings players and coaches participating in this game, but there are a few.

Kansas City Chiefs

  • TE Blake Bell
  • RB Jerick McKinnon

Both of these guys already have rings (two of them, in Bell's case). Bell, who was on the 2017 Vikings, typically plays between 15-20 offensive snaps per game as a blocking tight end. McKinnon, who was with the Vikings from 2014-17, was just activated from injured reserve this week. He's still listed as questionable to play with a groin injury.

San Francisco 49ers

  • Offensive passing game specialist Klint Kubiak
  • DT T.Y. McGill (practice squad)
  • OL Jesse Davis (practice squad)

The 49ers don't have any ex-Vikings players who will see the field, but Kubiak, their former OC, has a chance at a ring. He's expected to officially join the Saints as their offensive coordinator after the Super Bowl. Kubiak has had a key role in preparing the 49ers' offensive game plan against a dominant Chiefs defense.
