Injury Report And Other Notes From Friday Practice

On Friday, the Vikings had their final practice before heading to Green Bay for a massive early-season showdown against their biggest rival.
Unsurprisingly, cornerback Mackensie Alexander (elbow) was once against held out of practice. He was officially ruled OUT for the game. Fellow CB Mike Hughes was a full participant for the first time this week but has been ruled doubtful against the Packers. Still, he seems to have a decent shot at making his season debut next weekend against the Raiders.
LG Pat Elflein, CB Mark Fields and LB Ben Gedeon are listed as questionable. Gedeon hadn't been on the injury report all week but is dealing with a groin injury.
On the Packers side of things, injury-wise, star left tackle David Bakhtiari returned to practice. He is listed as questionable but it would be a surprise if he isn't able to play on Sunday.
Mike Zimmer spoke to the media briefly after practice, expressing faith in his defensive backs despite being down a couple guys and downplaying the aura of Lambeau Field.
Despite injury concerns,Mike Zimmer said he feels good about his cornerback depth: “This isn’t the first time we’ve had some DBs hurt so we’ll go out and play good.” With Alexander out and Hughes doubtful, expect Jayron Kearse to occupy that slot corner role in big nickel a bunch
