Packers Suspend Jaire Alexander For Sunday's Game Against Vikings

In this story:
The Packers have suspended No. 1 cornerback Jaire Alexander for one game for "conduct detrimental to the team," they announced on Wednesday. That's good news for the Vikings, who will get to face Green Bay's struggling defense on Sunday night without its top cover man.
Prior to the Packers' road game against the Panthers this past weekend, Alexander went out for the coin toss despite not being named a captain for the contest. He called the toss and won it, but nearly messed up the decision afterwards. And he did all of that on his own, without informing the coaching staff, because he's a Charlotte native who felt it was his right to go out there.
Jaire Alexander wasn’t announced by the Packers as a game captain, but he went out for the coin toss anyway. And called it. And won it. And almost messed it up.

Sounds like he just did it on his own.

Now he's been suspended for a game for his actions.
The Packers' top corners against the Vikings' Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and K.J. Osborn will be Eric Stokes, Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine, and Corey Ballentine. Jefferson is coming off a spectacular six-catch, 141-yard outing against the Lions in Sunday's loss.
Green Bay ranks 21st in DVOA this season, weighed down by the 30th-ranked defense. Coordinator Joe Barry's seat is a rather hot one as this season winds down.
The Vikings are currently two-point home favorites over the Packers in a battle of 7-8 teams that essentially amounts to an elimination game for postseason contention.
