The Vikings Attended Odell Beckham Jr.'s Workout For NFL Teams on Friday

In this story:
Odell Beckham Jr. is making his return to the NFL in 2023. Could he end up joining his good friend Justin Jefferson while being reunited with Kevin O'Connell in Minnesota?
Beckham held a workout for NFL teams in Arizona on Friday, showing off his progress in recovering from the ACL injury he suffered in Super Bowl LVI 13 months ago. The Vikings were among the large group of teams represented in some fashion, according to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones. Others in attendance, per Jones, included the Panthers, Giants, Patriots, Rams, Cardinals, 49ers, Bills, Chiefs, Browns and Ravens.
The Vikings could make sense as a fit for Beckham, depending on the cost. He's close with Jefferson because of their LSU connection and he won a Super Bowl with O'Connell as his offensive coordinator after being traded from the Browns to the Rams in 2021. Minnesota also happens to need help at receiver after choosing to release Adam Thielen on Friday. The Vikings appear to be gearing up for a bit of a rebuild after releasing players like Eric Kendricks and Thielen, but that doesn't mean they'll be punting on the 2023 season. Coming off a 13-win campaign, they have too much talent to do that.
Beckham, 30, could help the Vikings win right away. And if he's fully recovered from his injury, he may have several useful years left.
Drafted in the first round by the Giants in 2014, Beckham won Rookie of the Year and made three straight Pro Bowls to begin his career, exceeding 1,300 yards in all three seasons. He also had 1,000-yard seasons in 2018 and 2019, the latter coming in his first season with the Browns. Beckham was in Cleveland for 1.5 seasons when Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was the VP of football operations there.
Beckham dealt with some injury issues in 2020 and then missed all of the 2022 season, but he's likely still talented and athletic enough to be an impact player as a No. 2 or 3 receiver if healthy.
Although it's tough to predict how productive Beckham will be coming off an ACL injury at age 30, one thing is for sure: There will be a lot of fanfare when he signs with a team. He's the single most-followed NFL player on social media, with 17 million followers on Instagram and 4.4 million on Twitter.
