The Vikings announced Thursday that wide receiver Josh Doctson has been placed on Injured Reserve with a knee injury. Taking his place on the 53-man roster will be cornerback Nate Meadors.

Doctson was just signed by the Vikings earlier this month after three seasons with the Redskins. He figured to get an opportunity at outside receiver once he got up to speed on the playbook. This injury derails that possibility.

Meadors is an undrafted rookie cornerback from UCLA. He played in all four preseason games with the Vikings, making nine tackles and recording a pick-6. It's possible he could see the field this Sunday.

Taking Meadors' spot on the practice squad is wide receiver Alexander Hollins from Eastern Illinois, who was with the Vikings during training camp and had three catches in preseason.

The Vikings are back down to four wide receivers, with Olabisi Johnson and Chad Beebe behind the big two of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.
