Vikings-Chargers Inactives: Garrett Bradbury, J.C. Jackson Down

In this story:
The Vikings will once again be without starting center Garrett Bradbury (back) when they take on the Chargers today at U.S. Bank Stadium. He was listed as questionable on Friday but will be inactive for the game. Backup Austin Schlottmann will make another start.
Bradbury injured his back early in the first quarter of the Vikings' opener two weeks ago. He appears to be getting close to a return, so playing next Sunday against the Panthers feels like a realistic expectation. Schlottmann has more or less provided a standard backup level of play since stepping in at center.
The Vikings will also be without outside linebacker Marcus Davenport, who was ruled out on Friday. Their offseason gamble on the ex-Saint is unfortunately off to a poor start.
Here's Minnesota's full inactive list:
- OLB Marcus Davenport
- C Garrett Bradbury
- DL Khyiris Tonga
- RB Cam Akers
- TE Nick Muse
- QB Jaren Hall (3rd QB)
O'Connell said on Friday that the newly-acquired Akers wouldn't be ready to play yet. The Vikings' other new player — veteran guard Dalton Risner — is active, but it's unclear if he'll play.
The biggest takeaway here may be that fourth-round rookie defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy is active for the first time after being a healthy scratch in the first two games. He takes the spot of Tonga on the gameday roster and will look to provide a spark. Outside of Harrison Phillips, the Vikings haven't gotten much from their defensive tackle group.
Undrafted rookie OLB Andre Carter II is also active for the Vikings for the first time.

Eric Kendricks
J.C. Jackson
Austin Ekeler
Brenden Jaimes
Zack Bailey
Christopher Hinton
Kendricks and Ekeler were ruled out on Friday. Jackson, a 2021 Pro Bowler with the Patriots and the Chargers' highest-paid player, is a healthy scratch. That's pretty shocking stuff.
Kickoff is at 12 p.m. CT on FOX.
