Vikings Hosting Free Celebration of Bud Grant's Life at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday

In this story:
The Vikings are hosting a free public celebration of Bud Grant's life at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, May 21st. The event will begin at noon and up to six digital tickets — which are required for entry — can be reserved here. Seating is general admission and attendees will enter through the Legacy Gate on the west side of the stadium.
The 'Bud Grant - He Did it His Way' event will celebrate the life and career of the greatest coach in Vikings history, who died in March at age 95.
"Speakers, panel discussions and memorial videos will pay tribute to the Pro Football Hall of Fame coach and honor his contributions to the region as an avid outdoorsman, supporter of veterans and legendary athlete and coach," the team said in its release. Attendees are encouraged to wear Vikings or outdoors apparel to honor Grant.
Mark Rosen will be moderating the event, with speakers including Bud's son Mike Grant, former Vikings receiver Ahmad Rashad (1976-1982) and current Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell. Panel discussions "will include family and friends of Bud, media who covered him and Vikings Legends who played under him."
Doors open at 11 a.m. and the event is expected to run from roughly 12 p.m. to 1:30.
Grant had a legendary life and athletic career as a player, coach, and executive. After playing three sports at the University of Minnesota, he was selected in both the NFL and NBA drafts in 1950. Grant played for the Minneapolis Lakers, the Philadelphia Eagles, and then the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL. He then became the head coach of the Blue Bombers, winning four Grey Cup titles. Grant was hired as the Vikings' head coach in 1967, winning 11 division titles and making four Super Bowl appearances in 18 seasons. Following his coaching career, the Pro Football Hall of Famer remained connected to the Vikings' organization until his death.
