Vikings Re-sign Laquon Treadwell With Chad Beebe Injured

The Vikings have re-signed free agent wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin.
It's confirmed. The Vikings are re-signing Laquon Treadwell today sources tell myself and @AdamSchefter. Minnesota is going to re-evaluate Chad Beebe's ankle injury in a week or so from what I was told, but Treadwell provides depth in the short term behind Thielen, Diggs & Johnson

This decision comes immediately following the news that the Vikings' third receiver, Chad Beebe, has torn ligaments in his ankle and will be re-evaluated in a week. Beebe had just two catches for 70 yards through three games, and was carted off the field after suffering the injury against the Raiders.
Treadwell, the Vikings' first-round pick in 2016, had 56 catches for 517 yards and a touchdown over the past three seasons. The Vikings released Treadwell after this preseason.
With Beebe out and Josh Doctson on IR, receiver depth is a big issue for the Vikings at the moment. The only non-Diggs and Thielen wideouts on the roster are Treadwell and rookie Olabisi Johnson.
Treadwell at least brings familiarity with the Vikings offense, compared to anyone else they could've brought in.
Don't expect to see much from Treadwell or Johnson going forward. The Vikings will continue to run a lot of 2-WR, 2-TE sets with Irv Smith Jr. and Kyle Rudolph likely to see the vast majority of Cousins' targets that don't go to Thielen, Diggs, or Dalvin Cook.
