The Vikings have made numerous roster moves over the past two days as they prepare for Sunday night's game against the Packers. Here they are:

  • Signed LB Anthony Barr from practice squad to active roster
  • Signed LB Nick Vigil from practice squad to active roster
  • Signed DT T.J. Smith from practice squad to active roster
  • Placed LB Troy Dye on injured reserve
  • Elevated WR Lucky Jackson from practice squad for Packers game
  • Elevated CB Jaylin Williams from practice squad for Packers game

There were three spots available on the 53-man roster with Dye, T.J. Hockenson, and D.J. Wonnum landing on IR this week. Those went to Barr, Vigil, and Smith.

The Vikings' top two linebackers are Jordan Hicks and Ivan Pace Jr., but they have plenty of depth on the active roster in Barr, Vigil, and Brian Asamoah II. Vigil and Asamoah are key contributors on special teams.

Smith gives the Vikings another option at defensive tackle with rookie Jaquelin Roy ruled out this week due to an ankle injury. Harrison Phillips and Sheldon Day were also limited in practice earlier in the week but are good to go against Green Bay.

Jackson and Williams were also elevated from the PS for last weekend's game against the Lions. Jackson played 12 snaps on special teams, while Williams played 13 on defense and 6 on special teams. He replaced Akayleb Evans late in the game, a move the Vikings said was made to try to provide a spark. Williams could be needed again this week with Byron Murphy Jr. out and Mekhi Blackmon questionable. If Blackmon can't play, Williams would be CB3 behind Evans and Andrew Booth Jr.
