Netflix has released the 4.5-minute opening clip from its new show Quarterback, which premieres on Wednesday. The show follows Kirk Cousins, Marcus Mariota, and Patrick Mahomes with unprecedented access on and off the field over the course of the 2022 season, and if this clip is any indication, it's going to be an incredible watch.
It's almost time for kick off!

With executive producer Peyton Manning as the narrator, this clip shows what fans can expect from the show. All three quarterbacks were mic'd up for every single game last season and followed extensively during their day-to-day lives, from the facility to the practice field to their homes and elsewhere.
Quarterback is an eight-episode docuseries from NFL Films and Manning's Omaha Productions.
“Look — we’ve seen quarterbacks mic’d up for a game," Manning said to Netflix. "We’ve certainly seen training camp. But we’ve never followed a quarterback throughout the entire season to see what he does Sunday night after a big win, after a brutal loss on a last second field goal — what they do on Mondays and Tuesdays on their off days. Are they hanging out? Are they playing golf? Are they in the weight room and watching film and grinding for that next game? Which is the answer, by the way, not to give it away. There is no golf in the season."
Last month, Cousins was asked about the show and said he hopes it'll give fans a little more of an inside look into what being an NFL quarterback is like. He had some initial skepticism about being followed by cameras throughout the season, but decided to do it, in part because it'll be something his young sons can watch back someday to better understand their dad's job.
"I think both NFL Films and our organization did a good job of just making sure they were out of the way," Cousins said. "It was subtle. It was never intrusive. Again, it was just a good opportunity to let people see me a little bit, I wish it could’ve been more, but just a little bit behind the scenes. As I watched a couple edits, I realized there’s going to be few things better to show my two boys in about 10 to 15 years. To say this is what dad did. You were too young to remember it, but this was life, and this is what it looked like. It’s going to be pretty powerful. Even my grandkids, to be able to show them that behind the scenes and stuff, I think there will be some meaning to that."
Quarterback premieres on July 12th. The eight episodes are expected to be roughly 45 minutes in length.
