The New York Yankees have picked up the options on the 2012 contracts of second baseman Robinson Cano and outfielder Nick Swisher, according to the official Yankees media relations Twitter feed.

Cano's option was a reported $14 million, and his agent, Scott Boras, had reportedly been seeking a new contract for the 29-year-old.  Cano was the Yankees' leading hitter this year, batting .302 with 28 home runs.
