Report: Ole Miss Athletic Director Pete Boone To Be Relieved Of Duties

University of Mississippi athletic director Pete Boone will join head football coach Houston Nutt in his departure from Ole Miss, reports SB Nation.

Sources told the site that Boone, who has served as the Rebels’ athletic director for 13 years, will not be allowed to have an important role in selecting the team’s next football coach. During Boon’s tenure Ole Miss has gone through three head football coaches.

Earlier today it was reported that Nutt, who joined Ole Miss in 2008, would be relieved of his duties following this season. The Rebels are just 2-7 this season under Nutt, and have no wins within the Southeastern Conference.

In Nutt’s first two seasons, Olw miss won the Cotton Bowl and posted consecutive 9-4 records.
