Report: Matt Capps May Return To The Twins

Even following an often-difficult 2011 season, the Minnesota Twins are still considering bringing back closer Matt Capps, according to John Shipley of PioneerPress.com.

The Twins gave up catcher Wilson Ramos to the Nationals for Capps in 2010, and Capps continued to deliver on the All-Star form he had previously shown in D.C. through that 2010 season, finishing with a 2.00 ERA.  In 2011, though, Capps struggled, suffered through a sore forearm, and ultimately lost his position to Joe Nathan.

Twins general manager Terry Ryan tells Shipley that he'd be focusing on the 2010 Capps if he were to re-sign the right-hander.  "I would say I'm looking back two years ago to the type of year he had," Ryan said, according to Shipley.
