Fausto Carmona To Miss Spring Training

Roberto Hernandez Heredia, otherwise known as Fausto Carmona, will miss spring training with the Cleveland Indians, according to the Associated Press.

Indians manager Manny Acta informed the AP that the team is trying speed up Carmona’s legal process in the Dominican Republic, but that it isn’t likely that he’ll join the team by spring training.

Carmona has been accused by Dominican authorities of using a false identity in order to play baseball in the United States. While he has been known as Fausto Carmona by Major League Baseball fans for years, it was reported last week that he was playing under a false alias, and that he was actually three years older than he had led on.
